4. How are TLOs 'evidenced'?

About this page

The Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) began auditing university programs in 2013 to determine whether they complied with the requirements of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

As part of these audits, universities need to show that their programs comply with AQF requirements regarding minimum learning. They begin that process by establishing Threshold Learning Outcome statements (TLOs). In response, the JoMeC Network developed TLO statements for the bachelor-level studies in journalism, media and communications, with extended discipline-specific statements for Journalism and Public Relations. A draft statement for the Communications and/or Media Studies discipline remains in progress.

Stay tuned. This page will very soon provide examples of how different universities and programs have evidenced to TEQSA that students who graduate from their programs have achieved the required standards outlined in their program-level TLOs.
