If you’re wondering how to develop your supervision skills and mentor the next generation of researchers, join us for “Supervising HDR candidates – from raw talent to ECR stars”. Professor Susan Forde and Associate Professor Fiona Martin will explore how you can improve the quality of your supervisory practice, your support for students and your understanding of your supervisory role. The workshop will cover talent spotting, considering research proposals, setting expectations and guiding the research journey through discovery and dark moments. We’ll also workshop the best ways to move beyond award stage into effective mentoring of ECRs.
